Mature horse chestnut trees lining the path through Little Bowden

The working group has been gathering information about the green spaces, new and old, within Little Bowden. This has helped to develop points D, E and I on the draft Neighbourhood Priorities Statement.

Our aim is to protect and enhance the green spaces and wildlife habitats we have in Little Bowden and to consider opportunities both for more green spaces in our area and for using and engaging with the green space that is already available.

Water flooding from the River Welland into car park opposite Market Harborough station

The working group has been liaising with local flood wardens to survey the Little Bowden area for flood risks and potential alleviations along and around the Rivers Welland and Jordan.

Residents and local businesses are encouraged to report instances of blocked grills or drains and low-performing swathes or balancing ponds to the forum or to Friends of the River Welland via facebook. Video evidence of blockages or surface water management issues is also most welcome.

So far the work of this forum group has been useful in identifying points A, D and I for the draft Neighbourhood Priorities Statement.
