Helping them to do this is a menagerie of animals from Peacocks to mini Shetland Ponies and Reindeer which live at the site in Packington. Some of the animals are able to go into shopping centres, schools and residential care homes using lifts and escalators to reach people and brighten their day and raise the much needed funding.
Groups, including schools and individuals can also arrange to visit the site in Packington and have an organised session with the animals.
Over 40 volunteers help out with the maintenance of the site and looking after the animals.
Young people who are struggling in main stream education can also arrange to attend during the week , to build on their skills, improve their self-confidence and general well-being.
Over the last few years the SHIRE grant has supported the Charity with various initiatives including; the installation of an accessible toilet facility to enable groups to stay on site longer and the salary of a worker to lead on ensuring that the sessions that are run are in line with the national curriculum.
